Emerging Markets Overview

The emerging markets desk at CRT provides fixed income liquidity, capital structure value research, local market equity execution and a private placement origination network.

We focus on four key sectors: real estate, infrastructure, energy and asset finance, across all of the BRIC countries, as well as South East Asia, the Middle East, South Africa, and Mexico; countries which we believe to be the current and future beneficiaries of cross border capital flows.

Our core strategy includes the following key areas:

Equities
Highly effective and efficient equity trading platform, through which we offer execution capabilities in some selected geographies, as well as a collation of research from our various local brokers in each market. We look to add value to our clients by applying fundamental, technical, and relative value analysis across our markets thus providing unique perspectives for funds who are interested in cross border activity.

Fixed Income
We provide expertise and capability to trade all public and private debt instruments within any emerging market geography or currency. We leverage off our US distressed credit experience to analyze special situations.

Structured Finance
We have developed relationships with local origination networks in our target countries through which we originate either loans or private equity that we structure and redistribute to our clients. Our target is the middle tier of the capital structure; subordinated debt or quasi-equity transactions.
