Financial Restructuring
Our philosophy of restructurings is to accomplish, when possible, a "permanent solution" to the troubled company's problems. Our restructuring experience convinces us that short-term solutions which fail to address a troubled company's underlying problems only lead to repeated restructurings which destroy enterprise value over the long term. We recognize that certain situations may warrant an aggressive and adversarial short-term approach to maximizing value for investors or providing a troubled company with the time it needs to resolve some or all of its problems. However, in most cases we add the most value by working diligently to gain the confidence of all of the company's constituencies and facilitating cooperative negotiations toward a comprehensive solution that restores the company's financial health.
